Our departments
Six departments make up the business. Each page shows the purpose, the people, the measures that matter and the systems the team works in.
Grants and Programs Branch
Designs and runs the department's four grants programs from guidelines and advertising through assessment, recommendation, funding agreements, payments and acquittal, so that public money reaches community organisations fairly, on time and with a defensible record of every decision.
Policy and Strategy Branch
Provides evidence-based policy advice to the Minister and the executive, prepares ministerial briefs, correspondence and cabinet material, leads program evaluation and consultation, and keeps the department's strategic plan and legislative program on track.
Procurement and Contract Management Branch
Plans and runs procurements for goods, services and funded service agreements under the Victorian Government Purchasing Board policies, manages contract performance, variations and payments, and keeps the contracts register and probity records complete for audit.
Regulation and Compliance Branch
Registers funded providers, monitors and inspects services against the funded service standards, receives and assesses complaints and incident reports, investigates serious matters and takes proportionate compliance action, protecting service users and the integrity of public funding.
Community Engagement and Client Services Branch
Runs the front counters, the public phone line and the online enquiry channel, handles first-contact complaints and applications, organises community consultations and keeps communities, councils and peak bodies informed about programs in plain language.
Corporate Services Branch
Provides finance, delegations, records and information management, freedom of information, privacy, security, human resources, work health and safety, risk and internal audit support so that every branch meets its legal, financial and reporting obligations.
