The situation

What has happened

Round 2 of the Community Connect Grants closed on 28 August 2026 and decisions are due by 9 October. You have been allocated two applications: CCG-26-0142 from the Goulburn Valley Neighbourhood Houses Network for a shared volunteer coordinator, and CCG-26-0151 from the Merri Creek Youth Collective, whose acquittal for a previous grant is thirty days overdue. Your manager has reminded everyone that round-by-round conflict of interest declarations are now mandatory after an internal audit finding. Samuel Adeyemi, the Director, wants both applications through eligibility and scoring, with reasons, before the moderation panel on 2 October.

Your brief. Complete your conflict of interest declaration, carry out the eligibility check on both applications under the grant assessment procedure, score the eligible application against the criteria with written reasons on the assessment report template, update the grants register and refer any eligibility problem to the program manager with a clear recommendation.

What to look for

Evidence guide

Look for a declaration completed before the files were opened, an eligibility check that applies every rule and correctly treats the overdue acquittal as a matter for the program manager rather than an automatic rejection or a quiet pass, and scores whose reasons cite the application. Register updates must match the procedure's status flow. Check the student did not adjust scores to fit the budget.

The student's evidence summary lists every record they created or changed in the systems named above, their notes and the tasks they ticked. Verify it against the deliverables and your own assessment tool.
